Our story and Process

Hi, I’m Megan and my love of vintage began young. My mom and grandmother were my main enablers. Growing up on old movies, vintage stores and house tours, I’d hear them gush over a desk or a portrait because it was an antique. It had story to tell. Hearing why something was so special and needed to be preserved stuck with me. I loved making up stories and imagining what a purse or dresser had belonged to or seen in it’s lifetime, the techniques to create it back then and how it stood out from everything else in our 90’s styled home.

These women took pride in the things that made up their home and the very dear items were heirlooms that had been in the family and cared for over generations or a piece of art found at an antique store that now proudly graced their walls. Any guests coming through the house would ask about these items and they would have the story told, with great pride. These were the very special treasures of the house. In a world where most items in our homes are reflections of the current selection of a few big retailers, I enjoyed deviating and curating a space that was interesting to me. Souvenirs of my life seem to hang on my walls rather than the same curtains and art prints as my neighbor.

As fun as antiquing is, it’s not accessible to everyone and some items, like home linens and fabrics, don’t stand the test of time. It’s always made me sad seeing broken ceramics or a lovely silk scarf moth eaten. What a loss! I wanted to preserve these works of art, to share them in a new way. Let that artist’s work hang again in the homes of many instead of never seeing the light of day again because the canvas was cracked.

Through modern technology and a bit of creativity, we have the capability to preserve these works. I love doing what I do and hope that I can share that with you!
